348/366 Fall colors • Japanese maple
This is one of my favorite times of year. The days here in Charleston are nice and cool and our Japanese maple turns this stunning deep maroon color. I have found this tree deceptively tricky to photograph, in no small part due to the overcast days that are pretty common this time of year. I am not totally in love with these photos, but I think this is my best year of photographing the tree so far. I shot it with my FujiFilm X-E2 with a Rokinon 12mm f/2 lens, and processed the pictures in Lightroom using the built in Velvia process in Lightroom and desaturated the blues some (to make my daughter's dress look normal).
